
Your back
consists of several muscles all of which supports your spine, posture and
activity important to daily life and sport. Exercising your back stretches and
strengthens the muscles that support its structures. Your back muscles bolster
your vertebrae disks, ligaments and facet joints. A strong back prevents
strains and pains when moving furniture or boxes.


This is a
compound movement that targets the shoulders and back, the muscles worked are
your latissimus dorsi (Lats), but your biceps will play an assisting role also.
This exercise can be done as part of an upper body strength workout. Its
important to target your back muscles to help with posture and to ease pulling
movements, like opening a door.
Focus on squeezing your back muscles for maximum contraction.

This
exercise targets your back, arms and abs, it’s a compound exercise, multi joint
movement that builds strength and requires your body to engage the core and abs
for balance while performing it.

Targets
Latissimus dorsi (middle portion), rhomboids, lower trapezius, biceps brachii,
erector spinae.
Squeeze your shoulder blades together behind you, pause for a moment before
lowering the barbell back to the starting position.


The
superman will target your lower back and middle back and strengthen your core.
This exercise will improve your posture and flexibility, and stretch your upper
body.
